Despite abundant research on national suffrage, there are still significant gaps in basic information about municipal, even if it is said it was a very important level to prove the female suffrage. This paper will examine the arguments used to pass the municipal female suffrage in San Juan and Santa Fe (Argentina). Rethinking municipal vote is an opportunity to enrich the image of political maternalism, concept used by historiography to understand the early twentieth century as a homogenous strategy to gain the suffrage.
