This article attempts to define the term 'occupational dermatitis'. A step by step approach to the management of possible occupational dermatitis is outlined under the following headings: Suspicion, Identification, Elimination or Reduction, and Treatment.Many other factors, in addition to the identification of occupational hazards, play a role in causation of occupational dermatitis and if not kept in mind may confuse or mislead the physician in his diagnosis and management.
