Abstract

En aquest projecte es desenvolupa un algoritme dissenyat per comprimir dades de radio astronomia. Dades reals de les missions ALMA i SKA son analitzades amb detall. Es desenvolupa un algoritme de pre-compressió i post-compressió que s?integrarà amb el compressor FAPEC. Els resultats finals seran comparats amb GZIP i BZIP2.

En este proyecto se desarrolla un algoritmo diseñado para comprimir datos de radio astronomía. Datos reales de las misiones ALMA y SKA son analizados con detalle. Un algoritmo de pre-compresión y post-compresión se desarrollará e integrará con el compresor FAPEC. Los resultados serán comparados con GZIP y BZIP2.

A compression algorithm designed for radio astronomy data is developed in this project. Real data from both ALMA and SKA projects is analyzed. A pre-compression and post-compression algorithm is implemented and integrated with the compressor FAPEC. The results are compared to both GZIP and BZIP2.
