Influencia de la fase sigma en la resistencia al desgaste de los aceros inoxidables dúplex

Abstract

En este trabajo se estudia la influencia de la fase sigma en la resistencia al desgaste de un acero inoxidable dúplex. Para ello se han efectuado tratamientos térmicos que favorecen la precipitación de diferentes porcentajes de la citada fase intermetálica. Los ensayos de desgaste por deslizamiento se han realizado utilizando la técnica de bola sobre disco, a una velocidad de deslizamiento constante y para diferentes recorridos. A partir de estos ensayos, se ha evaluado la cinética de desgaste y los micromecanismos responsables. Las observaciones realizadas por MEB, tanto en la pista de desgaste como en la sección transversal, muestran que la presencia de la fase sigma en la superficie endurece el acero de manera que la deformación plástica es menor. Estas observaciones se corresponden con los valores de tasa de desgaste, los cuales disminuyen a medida que el porcentaje de fase sigma aumenta.
