Afectación visual en la Glucogenosis tipo II

Abstract

Se conoce un gran número de enfermedades que pueden afectar a cualquier persona independientemente de su etnia, raza, sexo... pero casi todas, por no decir todas, tienen un seguimiento de signos y síntomas conocidos para poder solventar el problema. Cuando se habla de enfermedades raras esto no es igual, pues las inversiones son tan limitadas que nunca se consigue saber al cien por cien el curso de la enfermedad. La Glucogenosis tipo II es una enfermedad rara que afecta al metabolismo del glucógeno del organismo desencadenando varios problemas, entre ellos los musculares. El objetivo de este proyecto, es evaluar si este tipo de Glucogenosis desencadena en los afectados alguna alteración a nivel visual ya sea refractivo, motor, de binocularidad o acomodativo. Para ello se ha realizado un cribado en el V Congreso de Glucogenosis realizado en la Universidad Autónoma de Bellaterra en Junio de 2014 a todos aquellos miembros afectados de cualquier tipo de Glucogenosis que se han prestado voluntarios. Una vez analizados los resultados, podemos confirmar que los enfermos de Glucogenosis tipo II presentan ciertas afectaciones visuales que no habían sido claramente destacadas con anterioridad.
