Medidas lineales y no lineales para la detección de somnolencia diurna a partir de la variabilidad del ritmo cardíaco

Abstract

La somnolencia diurna excesiva (EDS) es un trastorno que puede ser indicativo de varias formas de afectación de la salud de las personas, y que puede llegar a tener un impacto negativo muy importante en sus vidas diarias. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la actividad del sistema nervioso autónomo a través de la variabilidad del ritmo cardiaco (VRC) mediante métodos de la dinámica lineal y no lineal. Aunque se han propuesto diversos métodos para analizar este trastorno, aún se encuentran dificultades en el proceso de diagnóstico para discriminar entre un grupo de sujetos con somnolencia diurna (EDS) y, otro, de sujetos sin somnolencia (WDS). En el presente estudio, se realiza el análisis de una base de datos, resultante del registro del electrocardiograma (ECG) de un grupo de 20 sujetos con Sindrome de Apneas e Hipoapneas del Sueño (SAHS), 10 de ellos con somnolencia y, el resto, sin, a lo largo de 5 pruebas MSLT (Multiple Sleep Latency Test) y 5 pruebas MWT (Maintenance of Wakefulness Test).
