Analysis of lightning forecats in Colombia based on the lightning detection network data

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of lightning warnings based on Cloud to Ground flashes information provided by the Colombian lightning locating network (RECMA) during five years. Predictions made in this analysis have been carried out based on the two areas method. The warnings are evaluated in the basis of four parameters: Effective Alarm (EA), Failure to Warm (FTW), False Alarm (FA) and Lead Time (LT).
