¿Cuanto cuesta un metro cúbico de agua? El valor de los usos del agua en el Delta del Ebro

Abstract

Este trabajo estudia el valor económico de los usos del agua en el Delta del Ebro, comparando actividades productivas como la hidroeléctrica y el cultivo de arroz con los servicios ecosistémicos asociados a la conservación. Se aplica una metodología basada en indicadores homogéneos (€/hm³) y se incorporan escenarios de cambio climático. El objetivo es traducir los beneficios ambientales y sociales del Delta a un lenguaje económico que permita apoyar la toma de decisiones de gestión y demostrar que la preservación del ecosistema puede ser también una opción rentable.

Aquest treball estudia el valor econòmic dels usos de l’aigua al Delta de l’Ebre, comparant activitats productives com l’energia hidroelèctrica i el cultiu d’arròs amb els serveis ecosistèmics vinculats a la conservació. S’aplica una metodologia basada en indicadors homogenis (€/hm³) i s’incorporen escenaris de canvi climàtic. L’objectiu és traduir els beneficis ambientals i socials del Delta a un llenguatge econòmic que permeti donar suport a la presa de decisions de gestió i demostrar que la preservació de l’ecosistema també pot ser una opció rendible.

This thesis explores the economic value of water uses in the Ebro Delta, comparing productive activities such as hydropower and rice cultivation with ecosystem services linked to conservation. The study applies a methodology based on homogeneous indicators (€/hm³) and includes climate change scenarios. The aim is to translate the Delta’s environmental and social benefits into economic terms to support management decision-making and highlight that preserving the ecosystem can also be an economically viable option.
