Capa de rodadura con un 100% de mezcla bituminosa reutilizada en frío en central

Abstract

En la carretera LP-3322, en el tramo comprendido entre las poblaciones de Mollerussa y Linyola (Lleida), se ha puesto en obra una capa de rodadura de mezcla bituminosa en frio elaborada enteramente con materiales recuperados por fresado de pavimentos envejecidos. Se trata de la primera capa de rodadura de esta naturaleza construida en España. A diferencia de las mezclas reutilizadas en frio in situ con emulsión, tradicionalmente empleadas en capas de base o intermedias, la nueva mezcla para capa de rodadura ha sido diseñada contando con las posibilidades ofrecidas por la producción en central, como el control granulométrico y de contenido de betún de las dos fracciones de material recuperado por fresado utilizadas, o la separación de las actividades de demolición de las de puesta en obra. Además, se ha utilizado como ligante una nueva emulsión de betún modificado, del tipo C60BP4 REC (RECIEMUL P), puesta a punto para esta aplicación en concreto. Una vez realizados los ensayos de diseño típicos de las mezclas reutilizadas en frio, la caracterización de la mezcla de laboratorio se completó midiendo su resistencia a la deformación permanente mediante ensayo en pista. Desde julio de 2023, el tramo experimental construido se encuentra sometido a un tráfico T31 presentando, por el momento, unas buenas condiciones de servicio. En esta comunicación se describen las propiedades de la mezcla diseñada, las características de la capa puesta en obra y se presentan los resultados obtenidos en cuanto a módulo resiliente, resistencia a la fisuración y ensayo Fénix al analizar los testigos extraídos del tramo experimental construido.
