Abstract

Globally, industrial waste management poses a significant environmental challenge. The increasing accumulation of waste and the need to reduce the use of virgin raw materials drive the development of sustainable solutions. In this context, the circular economy advocates for reusing waste in sectors like construction, where materials like cement can integrate these by-products. However, there are concerns about the ecotoxicological effects of such materials, which could negatively impact agriculture and the environment. This study examines the integration of industrial waste, such as limestone rocks and amorphous silicoaluminate, into cement materials, and their impact on the growth and survival of Marmande tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) seedlings. Following circular economy and ecotoxicity principles, the objectives include evaluating the growth and health of seedlings irrigated with various cement leachates and determining the ecotoxicological effects of these leachates.
