Reutilización del 100% de RA con emulsión en central para capa de rodadura

Abstract

La reutilización en central con emulsión es una técnica alternativa a la reutilización in situ con emulsión utilizada habitualmente en España desde 1992, que permite corregir la granulometría del material recuperado por fresado, controlar con precisión el contenido de ligante añadido, incorporar cualquier aditivo en la central de fabricación, independizar las operaciones de fresado y extendido, o extender la nueva capa en anchos y con espesores distintos de los de la capa demolida. Además, la producción en central permite limpiar cuidadosamente la superficie de asiento de la mezcla reutilizada para aplicar a continuación un riego de adherencia que asegure el trabajo solidario del conjunto de capas bituminosas que constituyen el firme. Estas ventajas han llevado construir un tramo experimental con una capa de rodadura de mezcla bituminosa en frío elaborada enteramente con materiales recuperados por fresado de pavimentos envejecidos. En este trabajo se recogen los resultados de los ensayos de diseño y caracterización de la mezcla en laboratorio (módulo de rigidez, sensibilidad al agua y resistencia las deformaciones plásticas mediante el ensayo de pista) así como los resultados de módulo y resistencia a la fisuración (ensayo Fénix y ensayo de propagación de fisuras) obtenidos a partir del ensayo de los testigos extraídos del tramo experimental. Esta experiencia permite concluir que la reutilización con emulsión en central facilita la producción de mezclas bituminosas en frío en condiciones controladas, pudiendo ser aplicadas incluso como capa de rodadura.
