Mezclas bituminosas en frío tipo BBTM para capas de rodadura

Abstract

La investigación descrita en el presente trabajo ha supuesto la puesta a punto de nuevas mezclas bituminosas en frío similares a las del tipo BBTM 11B en caliente. Con ese objetivo, se ha contado con una nueva emulsión bituminosa modificada con polímeros tipo C60BP4 MB (Styemul MBC), específicamente desarrollada para este proyecto. El diseño de estas mezclas se ha basado en ensayos realizados sobre mezcla de laboratorio y en la construcción de un tramo experimental sometido a la acción del tráfico. Las probetas de mezcla de laboratorio proporcionaron resultados muy correctos cuando se midió su cohesión y resistencia a la acción del agua mediante ensayo cántabro, y valores de módulo resiliente y propiedades Fénix inferiores a los esperados, aunque la capa construida presenta, hasta el momento, un buen comportamiento en servicio. Además, se ha ensayado la incorporación de partículas de caucho de neumáticos al final de su vida útil (PNFVU) desvulcanizadas mecánicamente, en una mezcla BBTM 11B elaborada con emulsión convencional C60B5 REC (Reciemul C), obteniéndose una buena aproximación a los resultados proporcionados por la mezcla con emulsión de betún modificado, tanto en cuanto a las propiedades de la mezcla de laboratorio con en la respuesta del tramo experimental.
