Nowadays ill fishes aren’t removed in time from the aquaponics. This leads into the fish spreading the disease among the other fishes in the aquaponics. That’s why there is a need from Novia University of applied sciences to build the fish catching UUV (Unmanned Underwater Vehicle), so one sick fish won’t kill the whole group of fishes with its disease. The project UUV for aquaponics systems will take place for fourteen weeks at Novia University in Vaasa, Finland. At the end of that period the UUV needs to be able to catch sick fishes out of large aquaponics systems. Right now, there is just a small prototype that isn’t functioning. This prototype is manufactured by the previous EPS group that didn’t succeed in finishing the UUV. It contains a pipe structure that keeps the prototype balanced and has installed rotors, but the programming isn’t done properly. In Appendix 4 the existing prototype is shown at figure 21. To transform the prototype into a functioning UUV there need to be implemented a buoyancy system, working controlling system, camera system. In order to achieve this result, the project group needs to make use of a Raspberry Pi to build a controlling system, to make the camera and control system connected and to direct the motors and camera from distance.
