Abstract

This study compares security threats in two categories of databases: SQL and NoSQL. The technical and structural differences affecting both categories are analyzed, detailing their key mechanisms and structures. Subsequently, the research investigates the security areas in the database environment, identifying and analyzing the most relevant threats for each category through a comparative analysis. Finally, the research focuses on the theoretical replication of injection attacks in SQL relational databases, evaluating their adaptability in NoSQL environments, with a special focus on MongoDB and Cassandra. This analysis includes the examination of various types of injection attacks, assessing specific vulnerabilities and the expected responses of each system, providing a detailed evaluation of the feasibility and effectiveness of these attacks in different database contexts.
