Abstract

This work constitutes a multiscalar interpretative analysis of the geometry of the land that shapes the peripheral layouts in the southeast of the City of Córdoba, Argentina. The morphological description aims to highlight the values of the underlying structure in suburban residential fragments that, through aggregation, form the distant peripheral totality. The employed methodology seeks to mimic the mode of fragmentary growth and develops the morphological characterization of 28 residential layouts individually. Subsequently, integrative readings are constructed to assemble them as a whole, revealing the morphological challenges for the rehabilitation of the urban fabric in terms of structure, composition, arrangement, and urban design. The hypothesis posits that geometry, as a fundamental element, produces a city model rooted in the technical culture of land optimization and can be a strategic tool for the urban transformation of the studied area.
