Abstract

El propòsit d’aquest treball de final d’estudis és analitzar i explicar el disseny i funcionament d’un sistema de transmissió interna per a bicicletes. A l’actualitat hi ha diferents empreses i patents de sistemes de transmissió internes de bicicleta, i certament és un sector en auge, sobretot pel que fa a l’expansió de l’ús de les bicicletes urbanes i bicicletes elèctriques. Al voltant d’aquesta tipologia de bicicletes, existeixen diferents sistemes de transmissió interna, però aquests es poden dividir principalment en dos grups; transmissió interna en boixa (hub) i caixa de transmissió en eix de pedalier. Aquesta última tipologia és en la que es centra aquest treball i disseny. La motivació de investigar i dissenyar una caixa de transmissió en pedalier, es deu a que només unes poques empreses i de recent creació, comercialitzen aquest tipus de transmissions. S'explicaran les característiques, els avantatges i els reptes d’aquest sistema, així com el seu impacte en el ciclisme modern. Per últim, s’estudiaran diferents millores quantificables als Objectius del Desenvolupament Sostenible.

El propósito de este trabajo de fin de estudios es analizar y explicar el diseño y funcionamiento de un sistema de transmisión interna para bicicletas. En la actualidad existen diferentes empresas y patentes de sistemas de transmisión interna de bicicleta, y ciertamente es un sector en auge, sobre todo en lo que se refiere a la expansión del uso de las bicicletas urbanas y bicicletas eléctricas. Alrededor de esta tipología de bicicletas, existen diferentes sistemas de transmisión interna, pero éstos se pueden dividir principalmente en dos grupos; transmisión interna en buje (hub) y caja de transmisión en eje de pedalier. Esta última tipología es en la que se centra este trabajo y diseño. La motivación de investigar y diseñar una caja de transmisión en pedalier, se debe a que sólo unas pocas empresas y de reciente creación, comercializan este tipo de transmisiones. Se explicarán las características, ventajas y retos de este sistema, así como su impacto en el ciclismo moderno. Por último, se estudiarán distintas mejoras cuantificables en los Objetivos del Desarrollo Sostenible.

The purpose of this final project is to analyze and explain the design and operation of an internal transmission system for bicycles. Currently there are different companies and patents for internal bicycle transmission systems, and it is certainly a booming sector, especially with regard to the expansion of the use of urban bicycles and electric bicycles. Around this type of bicycle, there are different internal transmission systems, but these can be divided mainly into two groups; internal transmission in hub and transmission box in bottom bracket. This last typology is what this work and design focuses on. The motivation for researching and designing a bottom bracket transmission box is because only a few recently created companies market this type of transmissions. The features, advantages and challenges of this system will be explained, as well as its impact on modern cycling. Finally, different quantifiable improvements in the Sustainable Development Goals will be studied.
