Abstract

This thesis explains what chaos engineering is in distributed systems and how it can enhance the resilience and quality of a service provided by a telematics infrastructure through this working method. The work consists of a detailed study of how each of the experiments allowed by the Chaos-Mesh application functions and how they affect a distributed system composed of containers managed by Kubernetes. The results of each experiment are extracted by Prometheus and graphically represented with Grafana. The thesis will also present the configuration of these tools for their proper functionality. Conclusions will also be drawn by comparing the generated graphs of the experiments that require it with Wireshark. Finally, a detailed study will be conducted on how the information provided by the ex- periment allows us to improve the infrastructure. It should be noted that this work was carried out in collaboration with the ITnow com- pany, specifically with the Engineering department.
