Abstract

Existen diferentes enfoques para incorporar funcionalidades a sillas de ruedas, convirtiéndolas en plataformas no solo para proporcionar movilidad sino también postura y actuación. Sin embargo, a medida que se añaden grados de libertad, existe una mayor necesidad de proporcionar medios para un control continuo de tales movimientos. En este contexto, el objetivo de este trabajo es conseguir mandos a medida (pulseras, bandas, pulsadores, joysticks) adaptados a la diversidad funcional de las personas usuarias, que puedan integrarse en el control con otros elementos (por ejemplo, sistemas de comando basados en sistemas de visión por ordenador). El presente artículo se centra en el diseño iterativo y la materialización de un joystick multi-material para ser obtenido mediante impresión 3D de extrusión de material capaz de controlar varios grados de libertad. El concepto general es una unidad sensora basada en un cambio de su capacidad cuando está sujeta a esfuerzos de torsión, y que puede ser adaptada en función de las necesidades de uso. Los resultados preliminares revelan un cambio suficiente en los valores medidos de respuesta e indican una viabilidad incipiente para usar la señal no solo como binaria (por ejemplo, para ordenar un giro/no giro de una silla de ruedas), sino también como una señal analógica continua o al menos como una señal discreta con múltiples umbrales.
