Gestión de purines y emisión de gases contaminantes

Abstract

La emisión de gases de efecto invernadero del sector ganadero mundial representó algo menos del 6 % de las emisiones mundiales en 2016, un valor bajo comparado con el sector de la producción de energía. No tan bajas son las emisiones de amoniaco por gestión de purines y estiércoles, que ascendieron al 63 % de las emisiones totales de la Unión Europea en 2015. En el presente artículo se analiza el dinámica de la generación y emisión de estos gases a partir de purines, para así poder comprender la idoneidad de diferentes técnicas para la mitigación de su emisión a la atmósfera. En todos los casos, poder retirar las deyecciones de las naves del ganado con la mayor brevedad después de su excreción desempeña un importante papel.
