Desarrollo de software para planificación de vuelos VFR

Desarrollo de software para planificación de vuelos VFR

Abstract

After analising current flight planning software for VFR flights, we can say that if we plan to make a VFR plan in Spain and use one of these programs, we will be limited by their airport database, as there are a lot of small airfields that these programs do not consider and aren¿t in their database. So flight planning softwares nowadays aren¿ t enough if we want to fly with smaller aircrafts, like an ultralight. This work consists in the development of an application from scratch, which helps with flight planning for both conventional and ultralight aircraft, providing a large number of selectable aerodromes compared to current programs. The application will be developed from scratch in the C# programming language using Windows Presentation Foundation technology. Once the analysis phase was finished, a study was necessary to understand the process of preparing a visual flight. It was necessary also to see what aspects are fundamental in the preparation of a VFR flight in Spanish territory, in order to implement them in the application. The current regulations in Spain regarding visual and ultralight flights were also studied, so I could design the application according to these regulations. At the end of this project it can be said that the application has been able to fulfill its mission, to provide a program capable to perform as VFR flight planning software and also to be a valuable resource for those more limited aircraft when planning their flights. Not only providing a greater number of aerodromes in its software, but also providing more focus on the pilots who fly with a recreational purpose, rather than a comercial purpose
