Resistencia a fatiga a cortante de las interfases bituminosas

Abstract

El grado de adherencia entre dos capas de mezcla bituminosa que forman parte de la estructura de un firme puede evaluarse a partir de ensayos de corte realizados a velocidad de desplazamiento constante, que permiten obtener la resistencia a cortante y la rigidez de la interfase, siendo habitual especificar una resistencia mínima. Pero las uniones más resistentes (y más rígidas) van estar más tensionadas, lo que podría afectar negativamente a su comportamiento a fatiga. En este trabajo se ha analizado el comportamiento a fatiga a cortante de dos interfases de diferente rigidez, obtenidas al aplicar dos tipos de riegos de adherencia: uno sólo con emulsión termoadherente y el otro, con esta misma emulsión, sobre la que se extendió una lechada de cal. Para ello, se ha utilizado un ensayo cíclico a cortante, realizado a tensión controlada, utilizando el dispositivo de ensayo B descrito en la norma NLT-382 (recogido en el borrador de la pre-norma europea prEN 12697-48). Los ensayos dinámicos han puesto de manifiesto la importancia de considerar la velocidad de desplazamiento entre los bordes de la interfase, además del nivel de tensiones a cortante a que estará sometida. A partir de ensayos realizados a distintas amplitudes de carga, para distintas frecuencias, se han podido determinar las leyes de fatiga para distintas velocidades de desplazamiento, curvas de isovelocidad, que han permitido obtener el número de ciclos que soportaría cada interfase, bajo unas determinadas hipótesis de carga.

Parte de este estudio constituye una de las actividades llevadas a cabo en el marco del proyecto de investigación SUPERBIT Tratamientos para obtener SUperiores Propiedades y Eficiencias de los Riegos BITuminosos mejorando la durabilidad de los firmes, que fue incluido en el programa de ayudas concedidas por el CDTI (Centro de Desarrollo y Tecnología) perteneciente al Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, del 2017.
