La regeneració de Ciutat Merdiana s'ha de nodrir de l'experiència que altres polígons d'habitatges regenerats ja no donen. Concretament, la regeneració de Ciutat Meridiana partirà per trencar el seu aïllament físic respecte a la resta de la ciutat de Barcelona, ​​però també respecte als petits barris limítrofs. La reconnexió amb el seu entorn s'haurà de fer a través de recorreguts que comuniqui llocs d'interès, tant d'activitat econòmica, habitacional i d'ocupació, generant així noves sinergies entre els veïns i els dels barris confrontants. En aquesta reconnexió caldrà potenciar el contacte que també té el barri amb el Parc Natural de Collserola i cada cop és font de més tipus d'activitats (agricultura, esport, lleure, cultura…) podent així ser la porta d'entrada a Collserola des del Riu Besòs i la Serralada de Marina. El projecte se situarà a la cruïlla d'aquests dos eixos d'intervenció, generant un pol d'activitat i connexions físiques a peu, trencant amb l'aïllament, alhora que genera una nova microcentralitat d'activitats socioeconòmiques a la part alta del barri, generant així un pol d'activitat al costat oposat a la Plaça Roja El programa que ocuparà aquest espai de connexió atraurà diversos tipus de gent i usuaris que, a Ciudad Meridiana, lloc incomunicat fins aleshores. La regeneración de Ciudad Merdiana debe nutrirse de la experiencia que otros polígonos de viviendas regenerados ya no están dando. Concretamente, la regeneración de Ciudad Meridiana, partirá por romper su aislamiento físico respecto al resto de la ciudad de Barcelona, pero también respecto a su pequeños barrios colindantes. La reconexión con su entorno deberá realizar-se a través de recorridos que comunique lugares de interés, tanto de actividad económica, habitacional y de empleo, generando así nuevas sinergias entre sus vecinos y los de los barrios colindantes. En esta reconexión habrá que potenciar el contacto que también tiene el barrio con el Parque Natural de Collserola y cada vez es fuente de mas tipos de actividades (agricultura, deporte, ocio, cultura…) pudiendo así ser la puerta de entrada a Collserola desde el Rio Besós y la Cordillera de Marina.
