The work is based on the analysis of industrial buildings constructed at the beginning of the 20th century in the city of Barcelona and nearby municipalities with a strong industrial tradition, and their transformation into collective housing. It studies the way in which these transformations were carried out, the benefits, causes and consequences of these interventions in the industrial heritage, from the constructive aspect to the urban scale of the immediate surroundings. The architectural quality of the resulting dwellings can be observed, without losing the industrial character of the pre-existing building.

El trabajo se desarrolla en torno al análisis de edificios industriales construidos a principios del siglo XX en la ciudad de Barcelona y municipios cercanos con una fuerte tradición industrial, y su transformación en vivienda colectiva. Se estudia la manera de llevar a cabo estas transformaciones, los beneficios, las causas y las consecuencias de estas intervenciones en el patrimonio industrial, desde el aspecto constructivo hasta la escala urbana del entorno más inmediato. Se puede observar la calidad arquitectónica de las viviendas resultantes, sin perder el carácter industrial del edificio preexistente.

El treball es desenvolupa en torn a l'anàlisi d' edificis industrials construïts a principis del segle XX a la ciutat de Barcelona i a municipis propers amb una forta tradició industrial, i la seva transformació en habitatge col·lectiu. S'estudia la manera de dur a terme aquestes transformacions, els beneficis, les causes i les conseqüències d'aquestes intervencions en el patrimoni industrial, des de l'aspecte constructiu fins a l'escala urbana de l'entorn més immediat. Es pot observar la qualitat arquitectònica dels habitatges resultants, sense perdre el caràcter industrial de l'edifici preexistent.
