There is increasing evidence that cannabidiol (CBD) has benefits associated with anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and calming effects, among others, which can be obtained not only orally but also transdermally. In this way, we can find cosmetic products with CBD, which is absorbed through our skin obtaining its benefits, without reaching the bloodstream or the central nervous system. The main goal of this work is to design a multipurpose batch type plant of 1000 kg per day, in which cosmetic products will be produced in different dosage forms such as creams, lotions, ointments and serums, with cannabidiol as an ingredient or active principle, in common among all of them. For this, it was necessary to investigate cannabinoids, their extraction method, and the appropriate dose of CBD. From this dose, the formulations of the cosmetic products to be produced in the plant are carefully formulated. In addition, the appropriate equipment was chosen, according to our product and manufacturing needs, carrying out an analysis of alternatives. Subsequently, the convenient Gantt chart is adjusted so that the plant, in its 16 hours of production, works in a semi-continuous mode, removing any downtime that may exist to make the most of its production capacity. And, finally, the dimensioning was accomplished with the necessary elements and materials, to carry out the budget matching to the entire project, giving us a total of 364.152,97euros.
