Estudio de la calidad visual en pacientes con implante bilateral y simétrico de lentes intraoculares de foco extendido

Abstract

Català: El cristal·lí és la lent natural de l’ull. Entre les seves propietats hi ha la transparència, imprescindible per al bon funcionament del sistema visual. A causa de múltiples factors, amb el pas del temps perd transparència fins a tornar-se opac. Per solucionar aquest inconvenient, al llarg dels segles s'ha anat desenvolupant la cirurgia de cataractes, que tracta de recuperar la transparència del cristal·lí, substituint-lo per una lent intraocular i corregint, si cal, els defectes refractius. En aquest estudi es van analitzar els resultats postoperatoris després de la implantació d'una lent intraocular de focus estès AcrySof® IQ Vivity™ d'Alcon® en una mostra de 18 individus. Amb aquest objectiu se’n van elaborar les corbes de desenfocament, que aporten informació sobre el rendiment de la lent intraocular, el que ens permetrà en un futur implantar a cada pacient aquell disseny que més s'adeqüi a les seves necessitats. Basant-nos en els nostres resultats, podem concloure que amb la nostra lent objecte d'estudi s'aconsegueix un baix nivell d'halos i enlluernaments, així com una agudesa visual molt bona de lluny i bona en distància intermèdia. Tot i així, per a una visió propera es recomanaria la implantació d'un altre disseny, ja que amb l'AcrySof® IQ Vivity™ un nombre elevat de pacients necessitarà un ajut òptic per a aquesta distància. Castellà: El cristalino es la lente natural del ojo. Entre sus propiedades está la transparencia, imprescindible para el buen funcionamiento del sistema visual. Debido a múltiples factores, con el paso del tiempo, pierde transparencia hasta volverse opaca. Para solucionar este inconveniente, a lo largo de los siglos se ha ido desarrollando la cirugía de cataratas, que trata de recuperar la transparencia del cristalino, sustituyéndolo por una lente intraocular y, corrigiendo, en caso de ser necesario, los defectos refractivos. En el presente estudio se analizaron los resultados postoperatorios tras la implantación de una lente intraocular de foco extendido AcrySof® IQ Vivity™ de Alcon® en una muestra de 18 individuos. Para ello se elaboraron las curvas de desenfoque, que aportan información sobre el rendimiento de la lente intraocular, lo que nos permitirá en un futuro implantar a cada paciente aquel diseño que más se adecúe a sus necesidades. Basándonos en nuestros resultados, se puede concluir que con nuestra lente objeto de estudio se consigue un bajo nivel de halos y deslumbramientos, así como una agudeza visual muy buena de lejos y buena en distancia intermedia. Sin embargo, para visión próxima, se recomendaría la implantación de otro diseño, ya que con la AcrySof® IQ Vivity™ un número elevado de pacientes necesitará una ayuda óptica. Anglès: The lens is the natural lens of the eye. Among its properties is transparency, essential for the proper functioning of the visual system. Due to multiple factors, over time, it loses transparency until it becomes opaque. To solve this inconvenience, cataract surgery has been developed over the centuries, which tries to recover the transparency of the lens, replacing it with an intraocular lens and, if necessary, correcting refractive errors. In the present study, postoperative results were analyzed after implantation of an Alcon® AcrySof® IQ Vivity™ extended focus intraocular lens in a sample of 18 individuals. For this purpose, the defocus curves were developed, which provide information on the performance of the intraocular lens, which will allow us in the future to implant each patient with the design that best suits their needs. Based on our results, it can be concluded that with our lens under study a low level of halos and glare is achieved, as well as a very good visual acuity at long distance and good at intermediate distance. However, for near vision, the implantation of another design would be recommended, since with the AcrySof® IQ Vivity™ a large number of patients will need an optical aid for this distance.
