Uso de herramientas digitales a pie de obra

Digitalización de procesos en obra

Uso de herramientas digitales a pie de obra

Abstract

The construction sector has a series of characteristics that differentiate it from other sectors: the large number of agents that intervene throughout the construction process, the fact that work is carried out outdoors and the inferences that exist between the design and construction phases. These characteristics lead to a fragmentation of the sector and low coordination between the actors involved, resulting in low productivity rates. We are currently in a period of transition in the sector, where the use of new technologies such as Lean Construction, Building Information Modelling (BIM) or construction 4.0 in general, aims to increase productivity and reduce deficiencies. However, although these advances are already present and consolidated in the design phase, it is on the construction site where we find less implementation. In order to reduce this digitalisation gap between the design and construction phases, different technologies and tools are being developed for use on site. One example is BIM stations, which are mobile systems equipped with powerful computers that allow information to be transferred and visualised collaboratively by the different agents involved in the construction process. This work studies how the use of digital tools can affect the execution of construction works. To this end, the traditional methodology used in the execution of a specific work unit, the execution of a vertical formwork, is studied and reviewed, identifying its processes, deficiencies and opportunities for improvement. After this, a new workflow is proposed based on the synergic implementation of the LEAN philosophy and the BIM methodology, deployed on site through the use of a BIM workstation on the construction site.
