La arquitectura del suelo: el parcelario como estructura morfológica en Viña del Mar

Abstract

La periferia de Viña del Mar es algo más que viviendas esparcidas sobre un extenso territorio. En el se guardan relaciones que son fundamentales en la construcción de la ciudad. Este estudio pone de manifiesto las características formales de los parcelarios, como elemento de orden y origen de la forma urbana. La traza del suelo, como primera arquitectura, permite catalogar diversos fragmentos y reconocer en ellos el potencial de su morfología. Los parcelarios son elementos de organización, identidad y soporte . Generan estructuras y formalizan relaciones, cuya morfología garantiza la permanencia en respuesta a los cambios que de modo constante producen en la ciudad. Las líneas que se han dibujado sobre el suelo responden a la geografía y al reconocimiento del lugar, adquiriendo importancia en prospectivas sobre el crecimiento, desarrollo urbano y superación de la condición periferia.
