Megaeventos esportivos e alterações morfológicas

Abstract

Nesta pesquisa, essa oportunidade é analisada sob a ótica de megaeventos esportivos, considerando que acontecimentos dessa natureza têm sido reconheci-dos como ferramentas de transformação urbanística. O objetivo geral desta investigação consiste em ana-lisar as estratégias de construção do espaço urbano, com vistas à promoção das cidades no mercado mun-dial, como nos casos de Barcelona, anfitriã dos Jogos Olímpicos de 1992, e do Rio de Janeiro, sede dos Jogos Pan-Americanos de 2007. O estudo volta-se a análise e interpretação das alterações dos tecidos ur-banizados decorrentes da implantação ou reformu-lação de equipamentos vinculados à realização dos jogos. A síntese analítica sistematizou a discussão comparativa dos exemplos estudados, revelando que, cada cidade apresenta uma forma singular de apro-priação do momento de inflexão oportunizado com a ocorrência dos eventos esportivos
