Abstract

Assegurar la correctesa de les dades d'un sistema és primordial en molts àmbits i sobretot en la informàtica. Les restriccions d'integritat de les dades són una peça clau per fer-ho possible però definir-les al sistema i fer-les complir sovint és feixuc i es fa de manera poc eficient i gens automatitzada. L'automatització és un procés que s'està duent a terme en moltes disciplines i per això creiem que és important automatitzar els processos que asseguren la validesa de les dades i el compliment de les restriccions d'un sistema. En aquest treball es desenvolupa una eina que automatitza el manteniment de restriccions mitjançant regles lògiques que representen la traducció de les restriccions textuals o gràfiques d'un model. Aquesta eina pretén fer servei als desenvolupadors i tothom qui vulgui assegurar un correcte manteniment de les bases de dades relacionals.

Making sure that system data is correct is primordial in many areas but mostly in computer science. Integrity constraints are important to make this possible but their definition and implementation is sometimes hard and takes a lot of effort, also it is done manually. Automation is a very popular process nowadays in all kinds of disciplines. That is why we believe automation of the processes that ensure the validity of data and the compliance of restrictions of a system is very important. In this project we develop a tool that automates the maintenance of restrictions using logical rules representing the translation of the textual and graphic constraints of a model. This tool is intended to server developers and everyone that wants or needs to ensure proper maintenance of relational databases.
