Abstract

Las torres de refrigeración y condensadores evaporativos son instalaciones de riesgo para la proliferación de la Legionella y la notable cantidad de aerosoles contaminantes generados por estas puede causar brotes comunitarios de legionelosis cuando su mantenimiento y limpieza son deficientes. El objetivo principal del presente estudio ha sido identificar y analizar los factores de riesgo para la presencia de Legionella en dichas instalaciones a partir de los datos sobre parámetros microbiológicos y físico-químicos proporcionados por el Negociat de Salut Ambiental y el Negociat de Laboratori del Ayuntamiento de L'Hospitalet, los cuales han sido relacionados con la proliferación de la bacteria en estudios previos. Además, se ha propuesto un método de clasificación útil para poder prevenir potenciales peligros para la salud pública, así como para poder evaluar la necesidad de nuevas medidas de control.
