Reconocimiento facial en una plataforma portable

Abstract

Se presenta el diseño y la implementación de un sistema de reconocimiento facial, en una plataforma portable. Esta plataforma puede ser instalada también de manera fija, por lo que se trata de un sistema dual. Se ha desarrollado en Robot Operating System (ROS) mediante el lenguaje de programación Python y con la librería OpenCV. La plataforma en la que se ha integrado el proyecto es una placa Odroid-XU4 conectada a una batería. El sistema de captación de imagen puede ser tanto unas gafas con cámara incorporada como una pequeña cámara Webcam. Para poder hacer que sea portable y para que en la interacción con la aplicación no sea necesario el uso de pantalla, ratón y teclado, se ha incorporado un sistema de reconocimiento por voz que transcribe las órdenes del usuario. De esta manera, también es necesario un sistema de audio como unos auriculares con micrófono. La versatilidad del entorno permite que los periféricos puedan ser fácilmente intercambiados, sin necesidad de ajustarse a un modelo en concreto. El proyecto ha sido diseñado de forma flexible, pudiendo ser utilizado para múltiples aplicaciones destinadas a diferentes fines, desde una ayuda para personas con dificultad de visión, para gente con enfermedades como la prosopagnosia o como herramienta interactiva para ayudar a personas con trastornos como el autismo.
