Profesta de Barcelona: an architecture for a synthesis of festival and protest in Barcelona

Abstract

“PROFESTA DE BARCELONA: An Architecture for a Synthesis between Festival and Protest in Barcelona” aims to explore the potential of an architectural project to synthesise two urban spectacles of Barcelona; festivals and protests. This synthesis ends up with a unique spectacle type called ProFesta. The process of generating this new spectacle and newly constructed situations are achieved by following the philosophy and principles of Situationism International.
