Abstract

The dynamometer is an instrument used to measure applied forces or to calculate the weight of objects from the elasticity of a spring. In this case, the dynamometer to be redesigned is the one used to investigate the grip strength of elderly people in geriatrics and, thus, they are classified according to their degree of fragility, this is from the Constant model 14192-709E (EH101 - 90kg) electronically modified. The objective of this project is to achieve a redesign of the product used for the "Envellint" project that involves maintenance of functions, safe and comfortable handling, simple and ergonomic design, intuitive use and material reduction. A series of steps have been carried out to analyse all the important concepts involved in the design of the product, such as the analysis of the initial product, a study of the users, the search of current products in the market and the development of redesign proposals. Once the guidelines to be completed with this redesign have been established, important points such as ergonomics, user-friendliness and aesthetics have been studied. Finally, the best valued proposal has been developed, implementing all aspects of it and taking care of the details, both design and manufacturing.
