Mobilitat urbana, perspectives de futur i transició

Abstract

The paper studies the future changes in mobility that are expected for the coming years, with special attention to urban sectors. The environmental, social and economic implications of a transport electrification are reviewed. In this regard, the greenhouse gas emission of different vehicle configurations is analyzed throughout their life cycle, vehicles such as internal combustion engine vehicles, hybrids, plug-in hybrids, battery electric vehicles or fuel cell electric vehicles and also emissions due to the generation of electricity that will be used to power those vehicles within different locations. The dates and volumes in which the market will adopt these electric vehicles are also studied and exposed. In urban sectors, special attention is paid to the recent implementation of trends in shared mobility, which are far from the traditional system based on private vehicles together with public transport, this can imply substantial changes in the need for private ownership and disrupt the bases of urban mobility. Finally, small electric personal mobility vehicles with low costs and reduced capacities are analyzed, together with the incorporation of autonomous vehicles that are also studied in reference to the changes and socio-economic impacts that they could have in the mobility sector.
