Proyecto Paramix : investigación sobre reciclado de pavimentos

Abstract

El reciclado de pavimentos constituye una alternativa de rehabilitación de firmes más competitiva y sostenible que la actuación convencional de refuerzo, ya que permite minimizar la utilización de recursos no renovables, áridos naturales y ligantes hidrocarbonados de origen petrolífero, y previene la creación de residuos y la ocupación de vertederos, disminuyendo por consiguiente la necesidad de transportar estos materiales desde y hacia la obra. Sin embargo, en la actualidad, las técnicas de reciclado, tanto in situ en frío como en planta en caliente, no están suficientemente implantadas. El proyecto PARAMIX (Road PavementRehabilitation Techniques Using Enhanced Asphalt Mixtures), financiado por la Comunidad Europea en el marco de su programa Competitive and Sustainable Growth, pretende analizar los condicionantes de las técnicas de reciclado y proponer mejoras en los diferentes ámbitos involucrados -materiales, maquinaria, diseño y construcción-, con una visión conjunta e integradora, con objeto de mejorar los procesos, el producto final y su vida útil.
