Guía técnica para la evaluación de la problemática del subsuelo asociada a compuestos organoclorados

Abstract

La protecció dels sòls contaminats és un dels requeriments medioambientals fixats per la llei de residuos 10/1994 i el real decret 9/2005. Fruit d’aquests i altres canvis normatius derivats de la nova cultura medioambiental, en aquests últims anys, hi ha hagut un fort increment en el nombre d’episodis de contaminació detectats a Catalunya. En aquest sentit, entre els episodis de contaminació per fonts d’origen puntual destaquen els relacionats amb hidrocarburs i compostos organoclorats. Els compostos organoclorats són normalment productes més densos que l’aigua, anomenats DNAPLs (de l’anglès Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids), i s’utilitzen principalment com a dissolvents, refrigerants i detergents en indústries. Al ser més densos que l’aigua, poc viscosos i tenir tensions superficials baixes, poden fàcilment penetrar dins del subsòl i fins i tot dins les aigües freàtiques creant així greus problemes medioambientals. A més a més, molts d’aquests productes són força volàtils i generen vapors que poden afectar a la salut humana i el medi ambient.

Este documento quiere presentar una guía técnica para la evaluación de la problemática del subsuelo asociada a compuestos organoclorados. Los objetivos de la guía son dar a conocer cuál es la problemática asociada a estos contaminantes y cuál es su comportamiento en el subsuelo y, por otra parte, ofrecer pautas para prevenir, diagnosticar y recuperar los suelos que han recibido un impacto por DNAPL.
