Rodaduras urbanas sostenibles

Abstract

En los últimos años, dentro de la corriente de creciente concienciación y endurecimiento de las diferentes normativas ambientales, se han ido valorando y tratando de corregir los impactos que provoca sobre el medio ambiente la fabricación y aplicación de mezclas bituminosas. El concepto de sostenibilidad ha llegado al campo de las mezclas bituminosas con tres componentes principales: la reducción de costes, la reducción de emisiones y la reducción del consumo de materias primas, preservando recursos para el futuro. Las actividades de conservación y rehabilitación de los firmes de las carreteras y otras vías de baja velocidad, generan una cantidad creciente de residuos procedentes del fresado de las capas de mezclas bituminosas deterioradas. Este material, que tiene un coste elevado y unas propiedades excepcionales, debe reutilizarse en mezclas del mismo tipo y función para su óptimo aprovechamiento. Cada vez estamos más obligados a prever soluciones para los residuos generados en obras de este tipo y obtener mezclas a menor temperatura. En esta comunicación se presenta el proyecto de investigación y desarrollo de mezclas que permitan obtener rodaduras templadas recicladas aptas para vías urbanas, que contribuyan a la sostenibilidad del patrimonio vial urbano mediante la reutilización de materiales de alta calidad con bajo consumo de energía y baja generación de emisiones en su fabricación, mejorando la durabilidad de los firmes y la gestión y explotación de los recursos necesarios para construirlos.
