Abstract

Los mecanismos de cifrado en flujo constituyen una alternativa interesante para proporcionar confidencialidad en distintos entornos como comunicaciones móvi­les y redes de alta velocidad. En la literatura se han estudiado numerosos aspectos para evaluar la robustez de estos dispositivos, entre los cuales destacan la complejidad lineal de la secuencia cifrante y su perfil de crecimiento. la aleatoriedad y la imnunidad a la correlación. Sin embargo. dichos aspectos no son suficien­tes para garantizar la seguridad. Una elevada complejidad lineal en una secuencia no garantiza que este parámetro sea estable [DING 91 J. Es decir, la modificación de unos pocos bits de la secuencia original comporta un crecimiento o decrecimiento notable en la complejidad lineal de la se­cuencia resultante. En esre caso. la seguridad del disposi­tivo podría verse comprometida mediante un ataque MAA (Mejor Aproximación Afín). Para resolver este problema. una posible solución son las funciones de cambio de estado no lineales. En este artículo se presentan estructuras tiltemativas basadas en NLFSR (Registros de Desplazamiento Realimentados No Linealmente), así como algunas técnicas que permitan analizarlas. Finalmente, se evalua la mejora de presta­ciones que se obtiene al sustituir los LFSR empleados en esquemas clásicos por NLFSR.
