Peix ecològic o peix sostenible? Anàlisis d'una paradoxa del sector pesquer

Abstract

Initialy, the aquaculture and fishery's sectors are analysed through the recompilation of the current European legislation and the sustainable standard's certifications by private organisms, doing a general review about the actual problems related with this activities and considering more sustainable alternatives. The objective of the project consists on evaluating the perception of agroalimentarian college students in the comprehension about the ecological and sustainable terms. Unlike other food, the average consumer might present certain difficulty about understanding these concepts. Through making a questionnaire the degrees of knowledge about ecological and sustainable fish as well as the consumption habits are evaluated. The results obtained in the survey are analysed through the Pearson's chi-squared test (X2) to figure out if significant differences may occur between the answers recompiled. The sample of students used has a higher knowledge about aquaculture and fishery products. However, its homogeneity and its low number of participants have obtained very few statistical differences between the answers compared in the poll.
