Abstract

En la solución de los problemas geotécnicos pueden seguirse vías deterministas o probabilistas, según la consideración que se haga o no de los criterios de probabilidad. En el artículo, que consta de dos partes, se pasa revista al estado actual de los conocimientos en este campo, considerando los tres enfoques principales: macroscópico discontinuo, macroscópico continuo y microscópico, en cada uno de los cuales son diferentes las posibilidades de aplicacion y el grado actual de desarrollo.
