Fatiga en hormigón estructural

Abstract

En los últimos años, las aplicaciones de hormigón estructural donde la posible falla por fatiga es relevante en el proyecto han aumentado considerablemente. Principalmente, esto puede ocurrir en estructuras que deben soportar maquinarias, tráfico, acciones ambientales (viento y oleaje), o una combinación de ellas, resultando en un alto número de ciclos de carga en las fases de operación durante la vida útil. Sin embargo, el tratamiento de este modo de falla en la literatura y las normativas relacionadas con el hormigón estructural son escasas y, en consecuencia, en la formación tradicional del ingeniero proyectista. Ello motivó a la Comisión 1: Proyecto, de la Asociación de Española de Ingeniería Estructural, la formación del Grupo de Trabajo 1/7: Fatiga en Hormigón, con el encargo de desarrollar un documento que contribuya a dar respuesta a esta necesidad. Este grupo de trabajo inició sus actividades a finales de 2015. El presente documento es el resultado del trabajo de este grupo y nace con el objetivo de ofrecer una guía práctica sobre los principales aspectos relativos a la fatiga del hormigón estructural, desde aspectos de comportamiento material, caracterización experimental, criterios de proyecto y ejemplos de aplicación. Los aspectos que se tratan en los diferentes capítulos están actualizados de acuerdo al estado del conocimiento, resultado tanto de la investigación internacional como de los miembros del grupo y la aplicación en casos de prácticos.
