Adaptación de lentes de contacto en corneas irregulares

Abstract

L'objectiu d'aquest treball és conèixer de forma teòrica les diferents causes o trastorns que poden provocar irregularitats a la còrnia, com podem tractar-les amb un dels dissenys de lent de contacte més utilitzats en aquests moments com són la lents de contacte esclerals i sobretot els passos a seguir a l'hora de realitzar una adaptació d'aquest tipus de lent de contacte. Aquest treball es compon bàsicament de quatre parts, a la primera part es descriuen les causes més importants que provoquen irregularitats cornials que són el queratocon, la degeneració marginal pel·lúcida, la queratoplàstia i ectàsies post cirurgia refractiva i post-lasik. En el segon apartat explicarem que són les lents de contacte esclerals i tot seguit exposem una guia amb els passos que hem de seguir a l'hora de realitzar una adaptació. I per acabar les diferents complicacions que podem trobar-nos un cop hem adaptat aquest tipus de lent de contacte i que hem de fer per poder corregir-les. Conclusió: Després de conèixer aquest tipus de lent de contacte i segons els estudis actuals, podem afirmar que el tractament amb aquest tipus de lent és dels més adequats per a aquest tipus de còrnies, per les seves característiques i els beneficis que proporcionen al pacient.
