Abstract

En aquest treball de final de grau, es realitza la implementació d'un visualitzador de molècules per a realitat virtual. Concretament de proteïnes, on la quantitat d'àtoms per aquestes sol ser molt gran, de l'ordre de 10.000 àtoms. Això comporta una dificultat de rendiment gràfic, sumant-li que el visualitzador es desenvolupa per a realitat virtual. Per altra banda, s'implementen uns mètodes interactius pensats en un entorn virtual, on l'usuari podrà explorar i mostrar la molècula de formes diferents així com seleccionar àtoms per veure'n les seves propietats. Per últim, s'integren totes les funcionalitats del visualitzador en un menú disponible dins l'aplicació, de manera que l'usuari pugui realitzar totes les funcions sense haver-ne de sortir d'aquesta.

In this final degree project, the implementation of a visualizer of molecules for virtual reality is carried out. Specifically, for proteins, where the number of atoms for these is usually a very high number, of the order of 10,000 atoms. This makes it very difficult because of what the graphic performance entails, adding that the display is developed for virtual reality. Moreover, interactive methods designed in a virtual environment are developed, where the user can explore and watch the molecule in different ways as well as select atoms to see its properties. Finally, all the functionalities of the visualizer are integrated into a menu within the application, so that the user can perform all the functions without having to leave it.
