In the last century, automation has been playing a significant role in the development of the industry. Trough using a various amount of control systems, automation is used to reduce human intervention in operations, especially in the most arduous and repetitive ones. In this way, the use of Robotics in industrial processes offers a great engagement between productivity and flexibility. Moreover, it brings an increase in the productivity, high flexibility and quality of the industry and an improvement of process security. Mobile robots appeared due to the necessity of efficient material transportation between different productive chains areas. This work develops an Omni-directional vehicle and a prototype was used in the experiments.
Treball desenvolupat dins el marc del programa 'European Project Semester'.
