Transiciones de fase en el nylon 11

Abstract

El objetivo de este Trabajo Fin de Máster es el estudio de la cristalización del nylon 11 y de las transiciones de fase con la temperatura. La cristalinidad y morfología cristalina de los polímeros es clave en las propiedades finales de los mismos. El conocimiento de la cinética de cristalización puede permitir un control de la cristalinidad según las condiciones de procesado y por tanto es útil en la elección del tratamiento idóneo para satisfacer unas propiedades determinadas. Mediante Calorimetría Diferencial de Barrido, DSC, se ha caracterizado térmicamente el polímero, se ha estudiado la cinética de cristalización primaria en condiciones isotérmicas y no isotérmicas y se ha analizado el proceso de fusión de las muestras cristalizadas. La cristalización también se ha estudiado mediante microscopía óptica de luz polarizada, donde se ha seguido el crecimiento de las esferulitas y observado su morfología. La cinética de la cristalización se ha determinado mediante el modelo de Avrami y la teoría de Lauritzen-Hoffman. Por último, las transiciones estructurales se han estudiado mediante experimentos simultáneos en resolución temporal WAXD con radiación sincrotrón y también con espectroscopia de infrarrojo, en los procesos de calentamiento y enfriamiento.
