This project aims at showing the design, implementation and real execution of a drip system run with photovoltaic energy installed in a plot of one hectare of land located in Vilarnadal (Gerona). It is a project created within the framework of the Investigations that encompass Water Efficiency directed by the Institute of Research and Technology Agroalimentary (IRTA). The project and investigation intends to showcase and educate the agricultural collective about the possibilities to improve water management in maize plantations. The design solves two major problems: water waste and pollutant energies. Renewable and Clean Energy is incorporated into the system in order to increase water optimisation and reduce the usage of fossil fuels.
