Abstract

Dada la necesidad de reutilizar los sub-productos de las diferentes industrias para su aplicación en la industria del hormigón, es necesario el estudio de éstos, tales como, las cenizas volantes. El reto por parte de los países generadores de este residuo, es el de gestionar, aprovechar y reutilizar estos sub-productos. Reemplazar parcialmente porcentaje en peso e cemento por estos materiales, así como generar nuevos materiales cementantes a partir de ellos, ayudan y resuelven parte del problema que representa la disposición final de los residuos y disminuyen el consumo de cemento, lo cual respresenta una industria sustentable. En este estudio se activaron alcalinamente cenizas volantes con NaOH yKOH respectivamente, para generar un geopolímero que podría ser utilizado como nuevo material cementante, y se evaluaron sus propiedades físico-químicas y microestructurales, mediante las técnicas de Difracción de Rayos X (DRX) y espectrofotometría de infrarojo ( FTIR)
