Abstract

El objetivo del presente proyecto es mejorar las propiedades de barrera al vapor de agua y al agua líquida de un soporte en base papel mediante la aplicación de un novedoso recubrimiento biodegradable de ácido poliláctico. El recubrimiento se obtiene a partir de una suspensión en base acuosa de ácido poliláctico, la cual es impregnada y secada sobre el soporte para conferirle las propiedades deseadas. En el proyecto se explica el procedimiento para la realización de las suspensiones y se elaboran diversas muestras utilizando diferentes grados de ácido poliláctico y diversos aditivos como cargas y plastificantes. Las suspensiones son aplicadas sobre el papel y se mide la absorción al vapor de agua y al agua líquida, estudiando la influencia de los diversos grados de poliláctico y de los aditivos. Se han obtenido resultados óptimos para el soporte impregnado con una suspensión de poliláctico de grado amorfo aditivado con los plastificantes CC y CP. Esta suspensión ha demostrado ser un producto puntero y estar a un nivel competitivo respecto a las suspensiones comerciales de polímeros no renovables. En el proyecto también se realiza el planteamiento de una planta para la producción de suspensiones de ácido poliláctico. En el análisis llevado a cabo se establece el uso de un reactor, un agitador tipo turbina axial de hojas inclinadas y una columna de destilación. Los equipos utilizados son diseñados en base a un estudio a escala laboratorio.
