Abstract

Actualmente, la evaluación de la tenacidad de fractura en aceros avanzados de alta resistencia (Advanced High Strength Steels, AHSS) en chapas finas se obtiene mediante los ensayos de Trabajo Esencial de Fractura (TEF). Esta metodología es relativamente sencilla en comparación con otros métodos existentes. La evaluación experimental de la tenacidad de fractura en chapa gruesa se tendría que adaptar al espesor de la chapa. Diversos estudios demuestran que la metodología de ensayo TEF funciona muy bien para chapas delgadas, pero también podría ser una buena herramienta para la determinación de la tenacidad en chapas gruesas. La cuestión que se plantea el presente trabajo es, si la metodología TEF nos sirve para obtener valores de tenacidad en chapas gruesas (6 mm) en AHSS. Para ello, se ha utilizado un acero 22MnB5 en estado inicial y con un tratamiento térmico aplicado. Para ejecutar estos ensayos se han usado probetas DENT (Double Edge Notch Tension) que son las recomendadas por la ESIS (European Structural Integrity Society) [CLU01]. En este proyecto, a parte de las probetas DENT se han usado probetas SENB (Single Edge Notched Bend) las cuales presentan ventajas a la hora de la ejecución de la metodología para la obtención de valores de tenacidad. Poder encontrar valores de tenacidad de fractura utilizando probetas SENB con la metodología TEF es una ventaja si estas se pueden comparar con las probetas DENT, ya que facilitan mucho los ensayos. Con la realización de estos ensayos se han llegado a obtener valores de tenacidad de fractura para las distintas geometrías de muestras que se han propuesto, lo que nos dice que el TEF es aplicable en chapa gruesa. Los valores obtenidos son muy similares entre ellos, pero, aun así, se recomienda la realización de más ensayos para corroborar los resultados.
