Introducción y desarrollo de un caso de negocio

Abstract

El presente trabajo consta de dos partes principales bien diferenciadas. En la primera de las mismas, se expone un resumen del método de análisis de proyectos mediante casos de negocio extraído del libro A Guide to the Business Case Body of Knowledge, de Leandro Pereira y Cláudia Teixeira. En la segunda parte, se aplica el método anteriormente estudiado a una iniciativa real. Aspirando a brevedad, definiremos un caso de negocio como un proceso de evaluación -compuesto por una serie de etapas secuenciales- imparcial, independiente y riguroso que pretende maximizar el valor creado por una iniciativa en el entorno y en la organización mediante el óptimo aprovechamiento del tiempo y de sus recursos financieros y humanos. Una vez aplicado el caso de negocio a la iniciativa real -creación de un regulador vial inteligente-, podemos tomar una decisión de acuerdo a las necesidades de la empresa y del entorno.

L’actual tesi consta de dues parts diferenciades. Primerament, s’exposa un resum del mètode d’anàlisis de projectes mitjançant casos de negoci exposat al llibre A Guide to the Business Case Body of Knowledge, de Leandro Pereira i Cláudia Teixeira. D'altra banda, la segona part tracta d’aplicar el mètode esmentat de casos de negoci a un projecte real. Com a breu definició d’un cas de negoci, considerarem que és un procés d’avaluació -consistent en una sèrie d'etapes seqüencials- imparcial, independent i rigorós que pretén maximitzar el valor que crea un projecte al seu entorn i en l'empresa mitjançant l’aprofitament òptim del temps i dels seus recursos humans i financers. Mitjançant la correcta aplicació del cas de negoci a un projecte real -en el nostre cas, un regulador de velocitat viària intel·ligent-, podem prendre una decisió d’acord amb les necessitats de l’empresa i de l’entorn.

This project consists in two different parts. Firstly, we will present the business case method, based on the approach of the book A Guide to the Business Case Body of Knowledge (Leandro Pereira y Cláudia Teixeira). Lastly, we will apply this method to a real project. Briefly, we can define a Business Case as an independent and rigorous evaluation process of an initiative that aims at value creation in the organization through the application of its financial, human and time means. Typically it consists on a well structured document where it states the investment purpose followed by the business impacts estimation and costs in order to determine whether the decision under analysis will be profitable. Once the business case is applied to the real initiative, we can make a decision having into account the environment and organizational needs.
